It has been a year since the capital city of Sabrié was swallowed by the Abyss, and the land is still in turmoil. No-one knows what happened, or what is going on. Many of the nobles have vanished, and with it's system of government gone the land is slowly falling to pieces.
Chains are appearing everywhere, making contracts with those who have lost everything. Here and there portals to the Abyss have opened, and many a curious adventurer has gone missing over the past year.
Someone has to do something, or soon the entire country will share the same fate as it's capital. A shadowy group of individuals have started to try to restore order, but currently their numbers are too small to do anything significant.
The world is in turmoil; and this time, there's no hero to save it.
