Class II:
Valremos, the broken Light – Once family heirloom passed down through the generations of the Joshuen family. This sword is said to hold mystic powers to unleash the force of the soul into a form of terrifying power. This sword has not left the hands of a Joshuen in over 650 years since it was first forged by Elmio Joshuen. It is said that a piece of each of its former wielders resides deep within the blade. After it’s destruction, the sword released the souls of its former wielders and as they were set free and gave Dimitri his knowledge, a new blade, free from the curse was granted to him. However, as he began to outlive the blade, it began to curse it with his own wandering which is now tainted the blade into keeping him alive until the one who forged it is nonexistent on any plane. The blade now has a hole in the center where the gem used to be and it still distinct by the split going down the center of the blade.
Quickstep – Formerly used simply as a burst and attack with his blade in order to avoid a counter attack, Dimitri has mastered the movement which has given him inhuman speed that is comparable to any other being, living or dead, on the planet.
Stun Slash - Bits of the souls within Luciendar form a barrier of lightning around the blade. Once you strike an opponent with this, it stuns them for roughly thirty seconds, allowing the attacker to gain great distance from the opponent or to better formulate a plan. A secondary attack will make the stun effect backfire and hinder the attacker.
Soul Shot - The souls within the blade form a small shot that is sent from the tip. It is an instant shot that is thin and quick. It is hardly ever detected by eyes alone, but if seen is described as a thin blue needle.
Soul Arrow – A move copied from a dark version of himself while fighting the chaos spirits. This is similar to a soul shot, but it’s size and strength are triple what a soul shot can do. The only difference being that it is slightly slower and easier to avoid. A precise shot with this to a vital organ will easily kill a weaker opponent as opposed to the shock given by a Soul Shot.
Soul Barrier – This enhanced version of the soul shield no longer needs for the sword to be drawn or held still, this is a permanent barrier around Dimitri during battle that on its own will deflect smaller attacks. However, Dimitri, using his hands can alter the location of the souls to increase their strength in a certain area to increase the protection from stronger attacks.
Soul Wave - Similar to the soul shot, except the blade is now encompassed by the souls. After the blade is surrounded, the user slashes the sword and it emits a wave of energy. The wave is four feet and is always in the shape of the slash, whether it be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.
Heaven and Hell - Calling upon the powers of both deities by moving in a specific motion. First, charge the opponent and do a slash upwards, the sword blazing with a blue fire, jumping up into the air which is called rising towards heaven. Second, the powers of heaven push the user down faster with a crushing slash at the opponent called heaven sent blade. Finally, the finishing strike of the attack which if landed correctly should slice through the opponent and destroy their body as a thunderbolt from heaven falls, giving this part the name sending to hell.
Soul Vision Enhanced - This ability allows Dimitri to predict his opponent's movements more accurately. His pupils become a crystal blue and he now tunes into the movements of the opponent's soul and not their physical being. Being that the soul seeks it's desire faster than the physical being, it works as a bit of a prediction. However, the difference isn't so great that a few milliseconds would change whether or not he would be struck. As he has grown in touch with more of the soul energy and the energy of those who don’t have souls, he now has a clearer view giving him a slightly longer time to react to an incoming attack. However, the cost has greatly increased and it can only be maintained for half a minute or so.
Class III:
Warrior of the Souls - This is a Joshuen family ability that only passes on once the wielder of Luciendar understands his true potential and the power of the souls. This is a transformation in which the eyes turn black, but the pupils shine white, as well as two wings sprouting from the back, one an angel and the other a demon. This is to represent the balance of good and evil of souls in the world, and within the warrior. Unlike most other transformations, however, this does not give a set increase in power, but rather it taps into the soul of his opponent. It gradually feeds off their soul, empowering the wielder of Luciendar, but it does not weaken the opponent. If the warrior is not strong, it may break their spirit in the process, but the wielder will receive no harm. To sum up this transformation, it places the fighters on an equal playing field, leaving the battle to pure skill.
Becoming One With the Demon (Tainted Soulforce) - This is Dimitri's last ditch transformation which is only accessible when directly giving his heart to the darkness within himself. His aura becomes a pitch black and hides his body except for his silhouette. This can only be maintained for a short period of time, around three minutes, and Dimitri loses himself completely, becoming like an animal. The aura is so thick and dense that the slightest touch will bruise the skin and leave the person touched in extreme pain. It has taken him over two hundred years just to learn to not pass out as soon as the transformation has subsided. The transformation extends to his weapon as well, making every cut or slash come with such darkness that it begins to eat away at the body around the wound and the only way to really remove it is to purify it from heaven or cut it off before it consumes the body like a plague.
Other Information:
Personality: No longer the happy go lucky guy he used to be, Dimitri lives for the soul purpose of getting into heaven and destroying the family who cursed him and all those who they hold dear. He expresses little to no emotion anymore and would rather strike down someone than have a debate with them about anything.
Origins: He comes from the Joshuen family who has been revered and honoured for their ability to assist the souls of the dead or lost. He is the only son of his family and at the age of 15, he was forced to take on Luciendar. It was then that supremely religious people decided it was not right for one family to control the souls for any kind of use. His family was killed and he took the sword when his father handed it to him. With his last dying breath he said, "Protect the family, let the legacy live." He ran from the battle that day in order to live on and train himself.
After leaving the sheltered life on his home island outside of Lavertia, he came across many friends, but just as many enemies. He became in tune with a spiritual brother he never knew he had until he began to explore the world named Ryan and his other half, a Lord of hell Loki who has confronted the pair on several occasions. After the first battle the two had where Dimitri left a scar on Loki’s chest, Loki swore vengeance on the boy who had bested him for the first time. Ryan and Loki had always fought the same style and always to a stalemate, to imagine that Loki would be bested by some young punk must have infuriated him.
Dimitri continued to aid his home through multiple battles and was once renowned as one of the greatest heroes on the planet. However, all good things come to an end as the battles and the opponents became stronger and his lack of knowledge and control of soul energy began to be more of a hindrance than an aid. He sought the fallen angel Sophia in order to get more control and understanding on the mysterious energy that flowed through his being. Her help was greatly beneficial, but it did not reach the full potential that was possible so he went on a quest to seek the power he needed to protect this planet should it ever be left in his hands.
He began a journey which led him to Elisea, the north pole and home of the most spiritual people on Dragonia. It was here that he met their high priestess, Lady Luneia, who told him of what path he had to follow in order to get the full control of the souls that sought their escape from this plane. She had led him to a place where he could reach the gods and they could teach him, but he was also warned that his spiritual presence would be felt by every spiritual being who could sense his spirit while he was in tune with the gods. After understanding the risks, he followed her and entered a temple on the highest part of the pole, almost as if it was reaching out to the heavens.
He spent a year or so being reclusive and was tended by the Eliseans while he prayed for answers. On one fateful night, he got the answers he had hoped for, but Luneia’s warning had come back to him. While he was most in tune with the gods and their spiritual presence, his own spirit reached its peak and attracted some quite unwelcome company. Standing at the doorway to the temple was Loki who had finally come to get his vengeance and wanted to while he was at his high point.
The battle between the two was fierce and at the cost of the Elisean holy temple. It waged much longer than a simple skirmish and ultimately resulted in the uprooting of the mountain the temple was built on and a final clash resulting in the destruction of Luciendar and ultimately Dimitri’s death. However, the power of the Joshuens once trapped within the blade proved to be an immeasurable entity as they penetrated Dimitri’s being. In a matter of minutes, they connected with Dimitri’s soul and shared with him all their past knowledge, and upon exiting his being, used their power to form the Luciendar envisioned in Dimitri’s mind.
He was never anything special, until his death at the hands of one of the afore mentioned Lords of Hell. The shattering of a crystal and death in a holy place has done so many things to this individual and none in the stories of legends. Instead, the stories he was told were the furthest from the truth that anything could have been told. There would be no freedom for his soul, not even a reach for heaven and since his death, he has vowed vengeance. The souls from hell that once sought redemption filled his body with their life so that he could survive and he went straight to Hell to the answers of this sick joke, only to find that the one who killed him, Loki, was gone. His family and the Jiaoimasu went so far back that the split of his one of their seeds would have to know something and he wanted the information.
For one hundred years, he roamed the levels of hell, starting at the bottom and making his way up attempting to find the bastard son of the family who had slain him, but nothing. The souls continued to keep him alive and young, unaging until they could be redeemed, but even they were unaware that they never reached heaven. Without the crystal to act as a medium, they were sent to purgatory to wait the end of the world so they may be judged. There was such an abundance of souls that it seemed he would never age again, despite still having a living body, but he wanted his answers and family again.
It took another four hundred and seventy eight years to arrive on the first level of hell and finally confront someone with answers. Lucifer had one thing to say to him, "I don't know or care about your family history, and as for Loki, I think he's dead and Hell is a much darker place now. Loki was soft and sentimental and his attachment to his brother made him weak. Now if you're done, get the hell out Dimitri before I kill you and make you a permanent resident. Oh, right, you already died once." That was it, Dimitri had enough of years of bullshit and a battle of epic proportions ensued.
Dimitri and Lucifer fought for a solid year straight, Lucifer out of the sheer force of his evil divinity and Dimitri constantly replenished by the souls he controlled. The fight only concluded when they both decided to talk things over and Dimitri made a hell shattering decision.
"All I want at this point is to get into heaven and bring them down to our level."
In that moment, not only did Lucifer understand that Dimitri was serious about destroying heaven, but he already considered himself a resident of Hell and that was enough for him to have respect for him and consider him someone to stand beside him. However, Dimitri did have the knowledge of heaven to put him just a step above and the two agreed to wait for their time to strike.
