Well, I made a HUGE update on LoD just a few moments ago (it started about ten minutes ago, because it takes so damn long to upload the whole site >_<). Well, there are a few important changes in the rules that you all should become aware of, along with a couple of other things you might want to look over.
The most major rule change is that Additional Character costs have gone up. As of now, it costs 25 credits and 255 posts (If anyone besides the admin staff gets the reference, send me a PM; I'll give you a credit and a cookie! ^_^). Also, the additional character clause has been changed to state that you can only can only receive one free character from the examples given (being the split dark half of the character, or being the child of the character).
The next most important thing (which has not been added yet--cause I just thought about it), is a rule defining the punishment for plagarism. For those of you who don't know, we have had a member who was recently suspended indefinetly for plagarising. I won't reveal names, in respect, but plagarism is obviously a serious crime in the writing world. If you're caught plagarising, you will be given a week to make the appropriate changes to your profile; if complied to, no problem will be made of it. However, if you don't make the changes, your account will be suspended for an indefinite amount of time (you will be unsuspended when we get the changes in an e-mail and confirmed by one of the staff members). If you're found plagarising a second time, that will be it; you'll be banned permanently.
Another major thing added was I made a definition change between Non-Playable Characters (NPC's), and Special Administrative Characters (SAC's). The big difference is that anybody can use an NPC, while SAC are reserved for special position and require permission from the LoD staff to be permitted for use (unless you own the character, then go ahead and use them ;D). It also details when each of them can be used, how much they can be used with your character.
And as of Ryan'sdemands request, a "ban" on 1337 has been added to the common curtesy section of the rules. It's more of an advisory not to use it; you won't be instantly banned-- like the original rule once had said-- but you will get warnings if you abuse the rule, much like every other rule on the site.
So, I expect to getshouted at a few arguments from a few people when they hear the change of how much it takes to get a new character, but other than that, there's nothing else to be said about this all. Feel free to post any comments when you read this, cause your help will determine the outcome of the RPG more than anything else.
