People of Secrets of Noria, Good morning (for me) and hello!
This is our first OFFICALLY announcement and update since the site went through it’s re-start and re-vamp back at the end of last year. In the few months that the site has been running in its new format there have already been several changes and that’s not even including the obvious changes in site content. I decided that an update like this, just to inform you all of what’s happening on the site and what changes have/are being made, was well overdue. So here we go:
- First and foremost I think I have to inform you all that Brandon (Mike) is no longer an Admin of this site, though I must [/I] make mention that it was through his own choice. It’s a great shame to lose such a dedicated and inspiring member of staff, but I am glad he has remained on the site as a fantastic member! So personally I don’t think it’s a complete loss.
We are currently in the process of choosing his replacement, certainly not an easy job, but we should have a permanent choice within a week.
Agatha has been given the task of advertising the site. Though we are all capable of advertising this RPG, and I hope we all are when we get the opportunity, the staff decided we needed an individual who was extremely dedicated to the success of this site to take on the task of advertising full on. We thought that there was no one who fit that profile more so than Agatha. She has no Admin or Moderator powers, so is technically not a member of staff, but she is doing and helping with a vital job that is the key to the sites survival, and as such deserves recognition for her hard work.
Also staff related, myself and Garoten have decided upon and instated a new staff position that you may have noticed; Saga Mod. This is a position that used to be a part of the site in the past, though it has been greatly modified. When a saga or storyline is being held by someone who is not a member of staff then they will be assigned to this special title. It will allow them specific Moderator functions that should give them more freedom to run their saga smoothly and without having to constantly ask the Admin team to create boards for them, or delete specific threads. This is a temporary staff position and a privilege that we will strip if we think it is being abused.
- The forum has taken a few good changes recently, with several new sections popping up. Sections like ‘The World; Noria’ , which holds information on all the races of the planet and descriptions of each country (currently under development) and even details on the Arcane Academy.
In addition to this, a thread has been placed within the ‘General Rules and Guidelines’ section of the site called ‘Getting Started’ . This thread is dedicated to helping new members through our, sometimes, confusing and daunting registration process. It gives step-by-step instructions on the different areas that may be important when filling out an application and how to do so.
Also with the new character profile layout now in operation we’ve officially granted everyone the chance to have ONE new character, free of charge. However, with a new profile layout that also means that all existing profiles must be re-done to fit the new layout. This is a simple matter of copying and pasting a lot of your current profile information, though it gives you an opportunity to update your profile to include recent events! So grasp this with both hands people, I know I am.
- Next we move onto story and IC related updates. I and Garoten have decided to split up the current story into two sections, both taking a section each. We have planned out a rough outline to the planned story, so we both know a rough story to follow, but with me controlling all things Academy related and Garoten controlling all things resistance related we are hoping to integrate a certain level of surprise and mystery, as neither one of us are conferring with the other on what we plan to do next.
At any rate this is going to go on hold somewhat, as our first site saga is about to kick off! As you may have noticed from Brandon’s new title of Saga Mod we have chosen his saga to kick things off, as it most related to what Garoten and I were currently doing. I have spoken to Brandon and he has signalled that he is ready to start his saga off immediately, so as soon as both Garoten and I have closed our current threads, which should be by the end of the week latest, Brandon will be starting his saga off.
With the start of the saga more locations across the planet will become available to write within, extending our horizons and experiences across the planet as we gain the chances to meet new people and visit new locations!
