The travel from Lavertia had at least been mercifully quick. Though Shizuka couldn't fly, Cham could, and no matter how many dirty glances he received as a result, the boy carried her dutifully to the beautiful island. They landed in amongst a wonderously plentiful valley, the capital of Pao easy enough to find. They'd followed the wagon trail for several hours before managing to feel life forms ten minutes flight ahead. They stopped for a time to rest, Cham and Kihaku their spirits, and Shizuka her arms from clinging to his young apprentice.
When his feet touched down, He turned his hooded head towards the young pair and gave an inward huff of frustration. Only a week or two ago, they were best friends, with a chance for a romantic relationship on the way. And now, because of cultural differences and a lack of familiarity, they disliked one another almost zealously, and in the future this might become troublesome.
A soft breeze blew across the fragrant hillside, bringing with it the scents of a closing winter and a nearby springtime. Wet earth, fresh plantlife, and the sounds of new life were all about them, and yet this wasn't the reason they were there. The open valleys and hillsides of Rues were the perfect place to practice light hand to hand self defence, no tricks, no powers, just straight unarmed combat. "You two want to rest for a few minutes, or just get right to it?"

Cham couldnt believe Kihaku made him carry her. She was just so... so... he couldnt complete the thought. As much as he didnt like her, he didnt hate her. He was being pig headed, he knew, but what she did wasnt right either, and he wasnt about to apologize until she did. Still, carrying her made flying all the much more harder.
Finally, they landed, Cham quickly letting her down and walking a few steps away for comfort. He fell down to his butt and leaned back on a large rock. "Can we rest for a moment sir?" He said looking a little winded from the flight. It was easy for Kihaku to keep going, he didnt have Shizuka riding on his back.
Cham looked at Shizuka briefly, his internal instincts kicking in to make sure she was alright and not in bad shape. Her arms must have been tired from holding onto him for so long. Realizing he was looking at her, he quickly looked away.

The thought of being carried in this baby form frustrated her even though she was already frustrated! But she kept quiet the whole time and didnt move unless Cham told her to so it would be easier for him to fly. She was still mad at him. But that was all. Everyone has their differences and opionions on things but she took it over board, she wouldnt be so weak if she knew he was going to hate her for it. When they landed on the ground she stepped away from Cham. He seemed even more angry since he had to carry her. Rolling her arms around to loosen them back up.
She started to look around at the beautiful place and smiled to herself. /this is such a pretty place. I've never been here before./ She turned and looked a Cham for a second when he asked for the rest he really needed. She felt really bad and tried not to show it. She then turned to Kihaku. "What is this place? I've never seen it before."

"Welcome to Rues, kiddies, a land where cities are on wheels and move without end. The central city, Pao, is several days off to the west, but for right now, get comfortable. Training resumes tomorrow."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (the next morning, threaded in with "Midnight")
Kihaku stood by the river the pair had found their middle ground, arms crossed over his chest and a calm look on his gaunt features. For once, his hood was down, the utter serenity of the area giving him a chance to simply be Kihaku, and not the confused, baffled, and nearly impotent warrior he usually pretended to be. The warrior within him was all turned about, new thoughts and powers within him calling out to be evil, to be good, to be destructive, to be creative, none of them finding harmony. Kihaku was almost using these children as a distraction, as well as helping them to find their true potential.
He didn't even turn to look as his two pupils arrived, standing on either side of him. Cham gave a very wide yawn, the glaze of sleepiness still clearly visible in his emerald eyes. Shizuka was just as mean-spirited, her face sullen, her cheeks puffed out with irritation at being awoken. Just as he was about to speak, his attention was drawn upriver to the opposite shore, where something very bad was happening.
There grew a haze as if it were sudden very hot in two specific spots over the sands. The vapor hovered in the air, little waves that altered one’s view if they attempted to look through it. Then, with a sound like a whoosh of air, large black blobs of energy formed in the center of the haze that whipped the air about them into a frenzy of gusting wind. The fish in the river leapt and swam as fast as they could out of the area, and the trees were suddenly devoid of tiny mammal life.
There was a sudden calm in the air, and where the dark spheres of power once floated, there now stood two forms, one male, and one female. They were both of equal height and build, but the female was much more curvaceous and sensual, the male more athletic and solidly framed. They both wore black boots, pants, and a thick black leather belt, but that is where the similarities ended. The male wore only a thin black tank-top, his pale skin clearly visible in the early-morning air. The female, however, was clad in a long-sleeved turtle neck, a black sash running from her right shoulder, down to her left him, and back up around.
The female instantly spotted the trio, and pointed to them, whispering to her companion in hushed tones, her index finger wiggling between two points. The male grinned maliciously and nodded, pointing straight at them without deviating. Kihaku whispered lightly to his apprentices, his heartbeat slowed, his body rigid with anticipation.
"Cham... the big guy wants you. Shizuka, you and I are taking on the girl. Be on your guard... they're not pushovers like in the Tournament." The male trudged through the water, while the female used him as a stepping stone when he was midway through, leaping from on shore, to his back, to the other, advancing on the Chaos Spirit and Human Angel.
The male called over to her, "Don't take too long Sphinx! We need him, but she is disposible!"
The female retorted, "You do your job, Cerberus, and let me have fun with mine!"

Cham's eyes unclouded as he watched the duo approach. After hearing the words from Kihaku, Cham instinctlively pulled out his sword. "Kihaku, please protect Shizuka." He said moving slowly away from the two rounding around the male figure, Cerberus.
Cham kept his sword point towards the stranger, his emerald green eyes watching very closely to his every movement. His hands shone a faint glow of green as he was prepped his Channeled Lightning. He didnt have to use it yet, so he didnt power it up enough to warrant any attention.
"Who are you and what do you want?" Cham said to Cerberus. Cham was no longer the little farm boy he first arrived on Dragonia as. Kihaku had turned him into a force not to be taken too lightly.

"I want your blood to stain the earth and color these waters red." An aura suddenly sprang up around the male, black fire licking his skin and rising into the air. The moisture on his clothing suddenly began to mist from his body, and a malicious grin snaked its way onto his features. From deep within his chest, a deep canine rumbling could be heard, as if he were growling at the young warrior he was about to fight.
"Breath of Hades!!" Giving a sudden inhale, he held it for a moment and then blew with great force, and from his throat erupted flames black as night, hotter than any normal fire could possibly attain alone. It balled up as it seemed to roar through the air, moving quickly but dodgeable if Cham kept his wits about him. He continued forward, quicker now, flames still licking the corners of his mouth, grin firmly in place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Malevolent Riddles!" Sphinx suddenly spread her arms to her sides to form a cross, and two perfect copies of her formed, one to either side of her. Her inky black ringlets bobbed as she began to advance upon them, her two clones beginning to flank them on either side. Kihaku on the right watched the original and the one on the right, while he hoped Shizuka was focusing on the left most one. He raised his aura, keeping his power level non-descript, Oblivion and Nirvana shivering slightly against his body, aching to be used.
Without warning, the left Sphinx charged, ducking down and aiming an upper-cut to Shizuka's middle, and then a sweep of her left leg to try and kick her feet out from under her. Meanwhile, Kihaku was attacked by his own clone, who didn't even get the chance to get a hit in. He teleported behind it, and with it's own momentum flipped it over his shoulders and launched it into a tree, back slamming againt the rough bark, tearing a cry of pain from it, and the original Sphinx. "You'll pay for that, Spirit!"

Cham was surprised by the malice this guy had for him but wasn't going to let all this take him off guard. The black fire shot towards him but Cham didnt find it too difficult to get away from it, though he could tell by the near miss that this stuff was way too hot to be regular fire. Cham finished layering his web and his hands where glowing a bright green.
He jumped into the air and shouted: "Channeled Lightning!" a blast of a green lightning bolt shot towards Cerberus at an alarming speed. Cham landed back on the ground and took on a defensive position Kihaku taught him long ago.

Shizuka was so mad at how they could just say they could expose of her. She knew she couldnt do much so she just decided to stay on defense until Kihaku could help her. Take the hit to the stomach she moved back for a moment. Smirking a little she jumped off the ground to get away from the Spirit clone "What the crap is going on guys??"

"Less talk, more fight." With a chilling ring, the Nirvana was drawn from it's sheath. "CHAM!" With a skilled flick, the razor-sharp blade flew to the boy's free hand, held with the blade back towards his elbow as Kihaku would normally hold it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The lightning slammed into Cerberus' left shoulder, knocking him back a step and pulling a grunt from deep within his chest. As he turned his fierce gaze back onto the youth, the wound, seeping black fluid, burst into flames, the same inky dark as the fire he'd exhaled only a moment ago. "The fires of Hell burn within my body, kid. You're way out of your league."
Clapping his hands together, there was a slight concussive shockwave, and when they slid apart, they trailed the same fire as seemed to be his favorite, pure black with red licking along the inside. He then ran at Chameleon, and threw a blazingly hot right hook, followed up by a spinning left heel kick.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The clone that'd been airborne a moment ago recovered quickly and landed on all fours in a very feline pose, while the other that'd managed to land a blow on Shizuka was pressing it's advantage, flipping forward and aiming both heels at the top of her pink head. The original, meanwhile, had regained composure and was stalking about them in a circle, seeming to be mulling over a choice.
"Tell me, do either of you know... what has three feet in the afternoon..."
At that instant both clones giggled as a staff appeared in their posession, a golden color but flexible as wood. Kihaku's clone lashed out with a quick jab to his gut, while Shizuka's, after landing, brought its own crashing down to her right shoulder. It was a blow that could very easily dislocate the joint if not dealt with.

Cham caught the Nirvana sword in his left hand, and quickly slipped his sword into it's scabbard at his side. He quickly switched hands with the Nirvana just in time to lean back just in time to miss the heat of the right hook but caught the spinning left kick on his hip, sending him staggering back a few paces.
Cham gave a chuckle looking at the boy, reminding himself of the exact chuckles that Kihaku gave Cham each time they were practicing and Cham couldnt lay a punch. "You've no idea who I am, dont try that intimidation crap on me. If your looking to get a piece of me, I'll make sure you have no limbs to take one." With that, Chameleon rushed forward, swinging the Nirvana at a top right to down left slash following by and arc back upwards. The sword was very light in his hands, causing it to move very quickly. Cham's eyes glowed brightly for a moment before his left hand came around, glowing an even brighter green as electrical charges danced around it, aiming straight for Cerberus.

Being able to dodge that hit on the head she stepped back far away. Not being able to do much was making it more difficult. But that move onto the shoulder was barely dodged, but not good enough to get away from the pain. Feeling basically like a after hit she grabbed her shoulder and winced in pain. "I dont care what has three legs in the afternoon anyway!" she mummbled to herself to get composer again to atleast defend herself waiting for Kihaku to be a master to her or something.

OOC: I joined in this saga in the sign in, and if I'm supposed to wait or anything, please let me know!
"You know Shizuka, you are a pain to find, even if you are an angel. It's rather annoying!" Xaphael growled as he landed in front of the wounded girl, the D'Illuminados Sword in hand. He surveyed the scene of the battlefield, noticing the odd three copies of one person who seemed to be on the offensive in this scenario, as well as three more males who were in combat with either each other or one of the female clones.
Well, isn't this a fun little situation. Everyone is beating the living heck out of one another, and they're all in my bloody way. How on Dragonia am I expected to have a decent conversation here with all these people causing such a bloody ruckus1? Xaphael sighed as he thought to himself. He looked down at Shizuka as he smiled, nodding to the young girl.
"Well, you certainly look as if you could use some aid here. I'll tell you what, I'll help ya if you agree to hear me out," Xaphael bargained with a smile to Shizuka. He then turned his attention over to one of the unfamiliar women, the one who wasn't distracted with a male, assuming that was the one who was giving the fellow angel such a hard time.
"Hey, you, woman-person, are you the one who's giving this lovely lady over here such a rough time? I really don't appreciate you beating her senseless like that! Very unbecoming I must say," he grinned, pointing his finger at her. "If you need an opponent that badly, I'll be more than happy to oblige you!"

She looked up at the new guy and tilted her head. She looked very confused when he spoke to her like he knew her. "who...are...you...?" she sounded like she was lost. Looking at the weapon he owned she started to get a little scared. But looked at him again when he asked if she needed help. "Yeah im useless to them and im suppose to get rid of this clone."

A look of slight confused lined Xaphael's face as he turned his head and faced Shizuka, then realizing what he had forgotten to do. "Oh yeah....." he spoke as he exposed his large angel wings. "I'm an archangel, one of you. The name's Xaphael, and I've been searching for you for a good little while now."
He smiled as he looked into her eyes, nodding to try and make her a bit more confident in him. "Anywho, you're under my care now, and let's hope it's up to par shall we?" Nodding to her one last time, Xaphael turned his attention back to this clone, grinning to himself in the anticipation of the battle ahead.
"So, as I was saying, shall we begin?"

Cerberus was heartened by the kick, and the missed punch caused some wanton destructin by catching a nearby tree on fire. Fire was good. Fire made things go boom. The dark warrior made a quick hop back to keep from getting cleaved in twain by the Nirvana, and as the electrically charged punch came in, it was blocked by a foot wide ribbon of blackness. Cerberus seemed surprised to see the tendril of blackness that found it's origin from his back, and even more so when dozens of others wrapped around him to form a perfectly symmetrical cocoon. The black pupae just stood there, ominous and foreboding next to the burning tree.
Sphinx noticed the sudden devouring of her counterpart, and answered Xaphael with a smirk and a sneer. "You fools... it's already over for you." Sphinx giggled maliciously as she too was consumed by tentacles of blackness that formed an identical cocoon to the one that contained Cerberus within it's inky clutches. If one were to come closer to the black oblong shapes, they could hear the popping of dislocated joints, rending of meat, snarls and hisses from within.
