Elena looked over to him and nodded in appreciation. The circle was perfectly drawn, and his telekinetic power allowed him to create the necessary lines from each node point to the other without deviating from their intended path. In reality, he did exceptionally well, but she didn’t want him to get a swollen head, so she just let him revel a little bit.
“You did purdy good Cham. I gotta say, if you don’t find any sort of livelihood on Dragonia, the OtherRealm could certainly use you as an artist.” She giggled at her own joke and snorted without shame. She moved towards him and gently placed her right hand against his upper right arm, looking into his eyes with a kind sincerity. “And please, Elena will do just fine, no Mistress stuff. You make it sound like I’m a dominatrix or something.” She gave him a friendly nudge to try and get him to smile, what she felt was the best part of his personality. It reminded her of Joshua, and though she’d rather not think about him, it was still really nice to see.
“Hokay, now, what we need to do is get this puppy cookin’ with gas.” She ran over to the outer edge of the circle, got down on her knees, and placed her hands upon the small depression in the dirt. “Pay attention, someday you might get to do this.” At that moment, her aura flared to life, a bright ruby flame dancing along her body as blackness suddenly flowed from her gauntlets. It seemed almost liquid as it raced along the design drawn in the soil, giving an audible concussion, like a small scale explosion, as the Chaos Energy hit a node. When the roiling midnight finally hit dead center, there was an almost painful boom, throwing Elena aside, and casting a shaft of indigo light into the late afternoon sky.
Sitting now on her bum and leaning back on her elbows in the exact manner that she’d landed, she smiled up at the pulsating purple path of radiance. Looking over to Cham, she motioned comfortably for him to join her. “Come, we shall sit and wait. Alls that’s left to do is wait for the others to drawn and engage theirs.”
