Kihaku was standing with his shoulders rounded on the seat at the edge of the middle area within the arena. Several portals were situated before him, each one a large distance apart from one another, though there was one directly before him. Several hundred guests were watching his scoreboard intently for his next round to appear. Breaths were baited, hands were clenched until knuckles turned white, and money began to exchange hands as bets were place as to who his opponent would be. The next moment, there was an interesting amalgamation of sounds as groans and cheers erupted around him, all of which were directed at his own area. Looking up and behind him, his name flashed several times with a number, presumeably a score recently updated, and another name below it, with another score besides it. v.
RYAN JIAOIMASU~ 4[/glow] Kihaku turned back to his portal with a grunt, pleased at least that for now he was ahead of his opponent in points. Kihaku still felt he'd been cheated out of his win, but that was in the past. Kiruna, the poor soul, had taken the brunt of the spirit's frustrations and had nothing but bloody wounds to show for his exertions. Pleased with the outcome of THAT battle, he gave a satisfied smirk to himself as he stood. The ring of the portal had begun to hum and spin at a rapid pace, blue electricty arcing over the metallic surface. The smell of burnt dust filled the air, mixing with the scent of snacks, sweat, and thousands of unwashed bodies. Kihaku was almost glad to step into the portal to face his next opponent. With a breif rushing sound, Kihaku was flung to the farest reaches of space and back as he pressed on through the portal, emerging with a small thud out on his new battle ground, and into direct sunlight. Kihaku gave a grunt of distaste for the bright afternoon light shining down upon his dark visage, his shadowed face lightened by the bright sunlight. The gently sloping curvature of the surrounding landscape formed a bowl, or a valley almost, with a few trees standing directly center, where Kihaku had made his way to stand in the shade of the little grove. "Damn administrators... sending me in the middle of the afternoon to a wide open expanse." Things were certainly not to his disadvantage, but from what he'd heard last time, this might not turn out so bad afterall. This... Jiaoimasu was rumored to be very powerful, and a tough fight. Well... Kihaku planned on testing that rumor to it's fullest.

((Right you are, Kihaku. The match is yours by forfeit.))
The crowd in the arena gave a collective groan of disappointment as the announcement came over the PA.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Ryan Jiaoimasu is unable to fight this match. This round goes to Kihaku, by default."
Attention reluctantly turned to the other screens, as the one that would have shown a great battle went blank.
((Kihaku: 5, Ryan: 0))
