The end of the match in the desert waste of the Zolan lands came at a disappointing time for it’s contestants. Both Falkan and Nishaio were becoming excited about the challenge of the fight when the tournament officials called the match. Hindsight, however, is 20/20, and looking back, Falkan was grateful for how it ended. As it was, neither he nor Nishaio was severely injured. If the battle had continued on its course, someone would have died. Still, he longed to fight Nishaio again and let the chips fall where they may. A fight like that came along once in a very great while for a truly skilled warrior.
Then the thought came to Reval as he surveyed the rolling fields of Rues that would soon become a battlefield – perhaps that was why some of the warriors in the tournament were there. Maybe it wasn’t all about ego or desperation. Maybe, just maybe, there were some truly great fighters on Dragonia, and they were looking for challenges of their own. Maybe the goal was noble after all…
”Nah.”
Back in the stadium, the fans, Alyana and her son among them, anxiously awaited the lineups for the next round of fighting. Finally the match was announced:
“In the land of Rues, Ryan Jiaoimasu versus Falkan Reval!”
This time the crowd exploded. Falkan’s first match had been largely ignored among the fans, because both of the contestants were unknown. However, this was round two. Both contestants in this match had won their first round, and thanks to the in-between round highlights and statistics coverage, now the names were fresh on people’s minds. Immediately bets were placed and those fans interested turned their attention to the massive screen showing the green hills of Rues. This would be a match to remember, no matter what.
In Rues, Falkan sat quietly and waited for the fight to begin. Though he was motionless and showed no sign of activity, he was busy. Round one had taught the seasoned warrior a lot. First, he had allowed his opponent to approach him unhindered. Then he had compounded that error by losing track of him and leaving himself open for the first blow. Underestimating Nishaio had nearly gotten him killed, and in his rage he had resorted to his most powerful attack far too soon. He couldn’t afford to make any of those mistakes a second time.
He also had to consider the variables of fighting another unfamiliar foe. In his homeworld, there were only a handful of warriors able to stand toe to toe with the Lone V’alcan Warrior and survive. Of those, only three had ever defeated him. And of those three, only one could be considered more powerful than he. Things were different in Dragonia. Here warriors at his level seemed commonplace, and more powerful ones weren’t exactly hard to come by. There was no telling what sort of opponent he would face this time. Falkan had at first presumed that the most powerful fighters on Dragonia had been involved in the war with the Saiyans – Nishaio had handily disproven that theory.
Finally, the signal came for the match to begin. Falkan stood and unfastened his cloak. The heavy woven metal garment crashed to the ground, meanwhile Reval prepared himself for the fight. He raised his energy to a comfortable level and hid it, then made a slow circle, searching for his enemy. Falkan Reval was ready…now all that remained was for his enemy to arrive.

The Grand Stadium was packed, people crammed into every corner of the arena's venue. Well, not every corner; the veiwing area for Falkan Vs. Ryan had cleared out ages ago. A tumbleweed rolled gently across the benches.
And, as if they needed to, the Judges voice announced to the tumbleweed: "Mr. Jiaoimasu has not arrived for his match, and therefore the winner is...
Falkan Reval!!!"
((Yeah... Ryan aint here... well, Falkan gets 5, I believe, and Ryan 0. Good luck in Round 3 lads. Falkan... I'm coming for you boy >_>))
