Cham sat in the lounge at a corner table in the darkest corner. He had a bandage around the top of his head and on his upper arm. He wasnt wearing his usual coat but had his sleeveless dark brown tunic on with black shorts. On his lap laid his sword in it's green sheath.
Cham had one hand swirling his green drink, looking a little like a cross between soda and tea, with his straw and had his head propped on his other hand. Cham felt horrible at his loss in his first fight against Elias. What was he kidding, he knew he wasnt going to win. Then why did he still feel so bad about it?
A few spectators had told Cham upon his return that he had done well for one so young, but he shirked it off. It was overpowered anyways by the amount of people who seemed to find it completely hilarious that he even tried to enter the tournament. He didnt take it too much to heart. If they thought they could do better, then they would have entered.
Cham wondered how Kihaku did in his match. Of course he did well, most likely won so quickly his opponant didnt know what was coming. Prolly a let down for the audience. He knew that he would prolly get a good chastizing from Kihaku when he heard about Cham's loss, followed by double the hours of training most likely. Cham knew he'd be healed up enough by his next fight, he just hoped he would have a better chance. He winced for a second as a small pang of pain erupted from his arm when he bent it the wrong way. Oh how he wished he had the ability to use Channeled Force on himself.

Kihaku stepped into the room with a swish of cloth and a darting glance about to make sure no one was sneaking up on him. His crimson eyes surveyed the blank scenery and finding it agreeable, literally plopped into the seat opposite Cham with a sigh and something akin to a smile on his now un-hooded face. He looked over to Cham and smiled a little wider, now more of a smirk than a slight upturned lip. "Well... I must say that I am rather pleased with the results of that match. How'd you do my boy?"

Cham was happy to see Kihaku but felt a little sad that Kihaku did so well and he prolly expected that Cham did the same. He felt like he had let him down.
"I... well I... dont ask." Cham said looking down at his drink not wanting to meet Kihaku's gaze. "We fought for a while and in the end, he had me unconscience. I woke up a bit later with someone saying i lost the 1st fight. I dunno, i figured i would have done better. I'm sorry sir."

Kihaku watched his reaction carefully and gathered the truth from what little wasn't said instead of what had been. His posture was slumped, his eyes were clouded, and everything spoke of one who was deafeated and realized that their best just hadn't been good enough afterall. Heh, almost the same thing Kihaku felt, only his match hadn't ended in defeat.
Kihaku pushed a vial of liquid over towards the young man and commanded him to drink. "Water with essence of sensu bean. It'll give you back most of your strength." Kihaku had already downed three of them and was feeling better, despite having almost no energy left. Physically, yes he was strong, but he was literally nothing without the chaos energies and he knew it. It would take a day or two to get them back, mostly due to that last attack.
"Don't worry Chameleon. I never expected you to win. No one did. Don't beat yourself up about it. You're just not strong enough or fast enough to defeat a strong opponent. Sheesh, did I get a STRONG opponent." He waved his hand about as if to indicate some great level of power. "This guy Musashi was as strong as I was, if not stronger. Our match ended because of time limits. Neither of us went down, oddly enough."

He never expected him to win? What happiness Cham had left had just been torn from him. Not even Kihaku had confidence in him one bit. That hurt worst of all. He could care less of what other people thought, but Kihaku telling him this was the kicker.
Cham lifted the glass of water with some wierd bean in it and he almost brought it to his lips before he set it down in front of Kihaku. "I dont want it." He said flatly. "I will heal properly on my own." Cham said not looking at Kihaku as he spoke. Cham's normally bright green eyes were dull and clouded, not looking alive like they normally were.
Cham took a drink of his own drink and set it to the side and folded his hands over each other and sat quietly, thinking about what he will do next. Should he drop out entirely? Why bother if Kihaku didnt even have an ounce of confidence in him? No, he didnt care. He entered this tournament and he will continue until he lost entirely or he died, whichever came first.

Kihaku kicked Cham hard on the shin from under the table, his face set in a small frown. "Shut up you idiot, couldn't you tell what kind of power that man was capable of? I caught a glimpse of him before he got out there and I could sense the power level of him. Compared to him, you were the pebble the monster tries to tread on."
Kihaku pushed the vial back towards him and looked at him with a glare that didn't give room for arguement. "I knew you would hold your own for a good while, but not that you would win. No, the way he walked and held himself was that of a well-trained soldier who'd encountered training a hundred times more harsh than what I've put you through thus far. So don't give me this whiny crap, 'Oh my boss didn't believe in me, boo hoo hoo.'" Kihaku said mockingly.
He removed the Nirvana and Oblivion from his person and set them next to his seat, leaning his head back against the wall and giving an irritated sigh. "That guy was tough as nails, and so was my opponent. I couldn't land a single hit, but at least I came out alive and in once peice."

Cham pushed the water back, a look of defiance on his face. "I am not a pebble." He said back. "He may have been stronger than me but I laid a couple good hits on him." Cham said, his hands in fists, white knuckled. "He didnt leave that matched untouched as you make it sound he would."
"I may be a lot of things. Untrained, oblivious to many things, but I am not a pebble for ANYONE to walk over." Cham said in a harsh low tone so that no one around would really notice. Cham's leg stung a little from the kick Kihaku gave him, but he didnt care. Kihaku was the only thing Cham had on this planet, and Cham would do just about anything for the man, but he didnt like to be called weak and a pebble when he tried so hard.

Kihaku glowered at the young man and his voice left his throat in a deadly hiss. "Don't you dare take that tone with me ever again boy, if you value the promise you've made to me. I want you to learn the third lesson you'll have to grind through that thick skull of yours. The first was to not be intimdated and to be intimidating. The second was how to fight and counter. The THIRD is to THINK before you speak or act. You accepted my words at face value but didn't stop to think about them."
He held up his hand, a single gloved finger pointing straight up. "First, I never called you weak. I DIDN'T because you aren't as when you first came here. Second, I compared you to him in a very accurate manner. YES, you are not weak, but NEITHER are you as strong as that man was. I never said he came out unharmed, but YOU left the match unconscious, better think about that as well. Third, I am not in the LEAST disappointed that you lost. You fought well for one so inexperienced in one on one battle, and I am proud that you lasted as long as you did. You... fought well Cham."
Kihaku became subdued for the first time in months, feeling as if he probably should have been a little more careful with his words. He put the vial in the middle of the table, neither for or against Cham. "I'm... glad that you're not greiviously wounded, boy. Healing Elias was honorable as well. Stupid as fuck... but honorable. You will be a great fighter when you need to be."

Cham slumped back down into his seat after Kihaku had let go of his throat. Cham massaged it as he started getting air moving throw it again. He didnt respond to Kihaku, still taking it all in. He felt a wave of shame wash over him feeling his words to his very soul. Cham was being stupid, taking his loss harder than he thought he would.
He wasnt home anymore, Kihaku was like the only family he has here on this planet, and he didnt want him man at him. Cham stood mute for a long time unsure of what to say. He felt that maybe he should apologize or say something, but couldnt find the right words to say.
Then, his eyes focused on the glass that Kihaku has been trying to get him to drink. It looked like normal water, but Kihaku has said it contained something wierd sounding, what was the word? Senzi or senzew? Regardless, Kihaku has his best intentions at heart so Cham grabbed the glass. He brought it up to his lips and took in the scent. I did smell like water with something more in it, but he didnt know.
He took a long drink, finishing it off as quickly as possible in case there was any after shocks or bad taste, best be done with it. When he finished, he realized it tasted like regular water and wondered if it was simply just that and nothing more. At that moment he felt a tingling wave over him and his arm and head felt numb for a moment, then, as if he hadnt been in much of a fight, they felt better. He rotated his arm, feeling no pain, and touched his head, feeling nothing there either.
"I didnt know this planet knew of a way of putting Channeled Force into a liquid. Whoever made this must have been very powerful. My ability doesnt even take on a very physical substance... but making it into something someone can drink at their leisure, now that's powerful." Cham said looking at the glass as if it held priceless jems.
"Do you have any injuries that I may attend to sir? You said your fight was very tough, did you suffer any injuries?" Cham said looking at Kihaku with genuine worry on his face. Cham's eyes were now back to their very very bright green, almost seeming to light up the dark corner they were in.

Kihaku huffed in a very indignant manner. "Well, you downed that pretty quickly, you mustn't be as bad off as you made yourself off to be. No, I have no injuries that need tending to." He lay down on the nearby sofa and streached out, feeling his body regaining its strength just for the three sensu essences he downed before arriving. "I hope your drink works, they may be sold here, but they're damn expensive, almost @400 a glass. I spent more on my drinks and yours than I did on lodging and your sword combined."

Cham sorta just inched the cup away from him like it was too expensive to be near him. "I-I'll pay you back sir." He said running a figer across the table. "I really wished you would just let me administer to your wounds, I can heal them as much as these things can im sure, and it wouldnt cost you a thing."
Cham shuffled uncomfortably in his seat. "It's been so long since I've had actual practice with channeled force, maybe i should visit the other fighters and help them out."

Kihaku listened to his whining about paying him back, as if it were necessary. Kihaku waved off his want for administering to his injuries, and a sudden thought struck his lobes. If he wanted to practice his Channeled force and pay Kihaku back for the sensu essence....
"Open up a stall in the arena. Charge people less for your treatment then the sensu essence, and not only will you make money for something you like to do, but you'll also get your practice in." He shot him a look like a fox at a mouse. "You'd also be able to pay me back for the drink in only two sessions."
Kihaku leaned back and smiled to himself, feeling clever for being able to come up with such a simple solution. "I wouldn't be able to help you much. Your powers are for good, while mine, maybe not evil, are still thsoe of the dark arts, and are of little use as far as healing goes."

Cham thought about the proposal for some extra @ in his pocket. He'd be able to pay Kihaku back for everything so he'd feel so much better, as well as be able to practice his skill. It was odd, he never thought about ever charging a person for his skills, it was just something he should do. He'd be helping people and getting money in return.
It would take a lot of energy to help a lot of people though. Cham would be able to cure maybe around ten people, more or less depending on the injury, then he'd be too tired to continue. He made up his mind, he would do it.
"But I'll need your help sir. I've seen how these people act when they can't get something they want. Some of them get downright furious. I need someone to watch over things and make sure everything stays straight and right. I can't be disturbed when healing a bigger injury."
Healing some injuries was very simple, but curing something larger took time and energy. It was kind of like knitting something together, you had to do it in a specific pattern. If you gave up on a pattern and started another one, it wouldnt come out right. Same went with channeled force. If he was attempting to heal someone, and was bothered or his attention was elsewhere during it, and he lost concentration, he would have to start a new line of Channeled Force which may end up screwing everything up.
"If the cost of that drink you gave me was @400, then i guess I could charge maybe @250, so after two appointments, I can get the money to pay you back, then a couple more times after that I can pay you for my sword, then we can pocket some traveling money for us or something. Cham stood up smiling. "We can make a booth with a sign that advertises us, by the tournament area." He said giving a sigh. "But not a whole lot of advertisements, I dont know if I can handle a heck of a lot of poeple." Cham said getting excited.
"Will you help me sir?"
