War; The Lands of Parmecia, Part One

Dragonia, within itself, isn’t the biggest of planets that have every come into existence, in fact its not even close to holding that title, but despite that fact over thirty billion people live within the planet in relative peace and harmony. As a combined continent it would be the lands of Parmecia and The Zolan Lands that house the highest population upon the planet, it summing up to just over a combined billion people; a melting pot of different races, and different types of people.

On the whole the world of Dragonia is a beautiful planet and Western Parmecia is no exception to this, despite being the most heavily populated country on the entire planet. Covered with verdant green grass and beautiful plant life, the land of Western-Parmecia is typically mountain based, meaning that the very ground itself is always, or at least the majority of the time, upon a hillside.

Vast, and beautiful, lands expand from almost every direction as far as the eye can see, and then some; It is extremely rare to see anything on the horizon that varies from the emerald coloured grass. Mostly meadows and woods, the land is a beautiful paradise for many Dragonian’s. The sunlight is known to be the brightest in this area and even in the night the moon shines like a bright and affluent beacon, providing more energy to the plants, and because of the constant beat of photosynthesis the air in Western Parmecia is more luscious and fresh than anywhere else on the planet. It is widely spoken amongst the people of Dragonia that if Lavertia were not the place to live, then Western Parmecia would almost certainly be.

There is however one part of Western Parmecia that is somewhat less spectacular, in a sense of nature, than the rest of the country, and that would be found upon the border between Western Parmecia and The Zolan Lands. Being that The Zolan Lands are nothing more than a huge desert wasteland, on the whole, the land where the two countries join is riveted with all the beauty and nourished land of Western Parmecia but fraught with the temperature and inhospitable atmosphere of The Zolan Lands; all the natural strengths of one country and all the natural weaknesses of another.

Where the Eastern and Western parts of Parmecia live in harmony with each other The Zolan Lands, through the years, has grown a level of hostility toward the other two countries, it said to have been the only thing ever grown within that land. It’s thought that this is mainly through jealous toward the better standard of living that the people of Parmecia have over them, much like the hostility that Bedoe have for Lavertia, either way because of this hostility, and the constant array of lethal sandstorms, the border between Western Parmecia and The Zolan Lands is what could be called a void of life; humanoid, plant and animal alike.

A violent, and seemingly lethal, sandstorm had been raging on for several days now within The Zolan Lands, and there seemed to be absolutely no sign at all of it letting up anytime soon. Sandstorms were a common occurrence within The Zolan Lands, so common in fact that the people of The Zolan Lands had begun to treat them as part of their everyday life’s, but sandstorms of such a destructive nature like the current one were one in a million, in truth a sandstorm such as this one had never been recorded; the first of its kind.

This was the appearance the sandstorm had taken upon the outside world, or more accurately to all whom actually took the time to care about The Zolan Lands, and with the sudden and unexpected invasion of a Saiyan army even less people cared about the happenings of The Zolan Lands; the total now more than likely registering at none. But in reality the sandstorm was no more dangerous than any other sandstorm that consumed the land, in fact this one was less hazardous. Deception was a key point.

If anyone had been paying attention to The Zolan Lands then they would have been in for quite the shock, especially if they were paying attention to it from the border. Slowly but surely, on the third day since the sandstorm had begun, a line of vague silhouettes stretching as far as the eye can see, roughly from the most westerly point of the border and the most easterly point of the border, came slowly marching from within.

As time passed the line became two, and then three, four, five, six, seven, and onward, until the numbers had reached an inconceivable amount. Unnoticed by all of Dragonia this army had one key aspect that gave an advantage in any battle, the advantage of surprise. They would surprise their enemies and cause confusion and chaos before they had even begun to wage their war, allowing the country to tear itself apart from inside out before picking off the surviving parts.

It was an army of devastating proportions, an army of Saiyans and Zolan Land Dragonians alike, an army built for the soul purpose to bring forth one single thing, extinction.

They marched on Western Parmecia.

The people of Western Parmecia all live in towns, which are as much a cultural mix of the medieval age as they are with a more modern setting. The homes are small and humble, but are perfect for the type of people who live within the land. The streets are filled with venders and markets; if you were to ask for a ‘superstore’ they would most likely either laugh at you, or shrug their shoulders in a confused state of mind. Life is perfectly peaceful in this land and the people are rarely concerned with the problems of modern-day life, as they rely on the elected officials to solve the big issues that plague their land and lives.

Needless to say the people of this country were not warriors, they were everyday people with everyday jobs and lives, they couldn’t fight a war. Yes the country had an army, most if not all did, but having sent the majority of their army to the Far East and west of their country, to stop any forces that may try to invade from Nasrad and Guardinia, Western Parmecia was somewhat short on forces. Despite this fact they were not worried, they had no reason to be in their minds. It could never have been perceived that a country of their own race would turn against them.

Western Parmecia didn’t stand a chance. Within less than two days of the army leaving The Zolan Lands the largely populated Western-Parmecian lands were within its sights. Within another five days of that the army had reached the capital city of Caranda and had broken through its city defences. It took a total of seven days in total for the entire army to completely sweep across the entire span of Western Parmecia, or at least the mainly populated areas. All who opposed them were slaughtered without mercy, including women and children, women were raped, and the rest were now prisoners to the tyranny that was the ever-growing Saiyan Empire.
