Sophronia could remember nothing. She flexed her hand over her head casting shadows over her face. She was laying face up on a smooth river stone. Her feet were dangling in the cool water as it lulled over rocks and falls. She blinked her eyes and slowly tried to sit up. A shot of pain shook her and pulled her back down.
Flashes of memories weaver through her and the pain grew stronger draining her of strength. She closed her eyes and centered herself. A ripple of calm came over her and relaxed her body. She tried to sit up again, slowly as she opened her eyes. She was alone. She looked down at a dirty cream dress. He had given it to her. Told her that white was her best color. He had kissed her and she fell asleep. She stood and wobbled on weak legs.
She treed through the forest and came upon a clearing of pretty flowers. She took a deep breath and smiled. Freedom. She had missed it. When she had awoken Lucifer had locked her away from the world. Alone she couldn’t stop thinking of someone. But now the name escaped her the face was gone as well. But she didn’t care. She knew it was important to know but she could find the peace of mind to care. She bent down and picked a few wild flowers and let their petals trace her soft skin. They smelt of sunshine and rain mixed with sweet grass.
She remembered the darkness. It scared her how dark it was and only a few rays of light could come through the dirty windows of her prison. She imagined so many things she supposed… But then she had the marks on her body to prove that they were not all just her mind. She took a few deep breaths and made her way toward the lights of a city. People, she thought, food. She was so tired. She stopped to rest again even thou she had not gone that far. She was almost breathless. She closed her eyes to rest for a bit and slowly let the darkness consume her.
