So everyone, a change is in the breeze. Within the next week or so, LoD may be moving to a new address, as well as changing some content due to copyright issues.
What this means is that LoD will have to change to a different site (either another Proboards, Invisionfree, or Zetaboards), as well as need to loose the content that makes this board specifically Legends of "Dragonia."
As this is the case, we'll need suggestion for new names and ideas or comments.
This is very important, please give us your input, we desperately need it. This thread is open for EVERYONE, there is no such thing as a stupid idea.
"Genesis Eve," is my suggestion.

What content specifically causes conflict? I'm assuming this is an issue that Proboards brought up. And if it was, we'd be able to better come up with ideas if we knew exactly what we couldn't use.

All I'm at liberty to say at this time is that the concept of "Dragonia" as a whole is currently being contested. What we have the option to do, however, is to take everything not specific to Dragonia elsewhere.
The site has a high probability of being shut down over this, so we'll need to be prepared to jump ship and colonize elsewhere. We can keep our characters, their personalities, their powers and whatnot (the new power system of ours is property of the administration), but the site and the content of "Dragonia" is being contested.

While I AM at liberty to say, I won't owing to the fact i'm not an asshole
All I'm going to add in is there's an old sega game that makes most of the names currently in use contestable regardless. If we do end up needing to re-do everything ourselves I'd be happy to help and contribute ideas for lands, cities, histories, etc.
We might not post here a lot but we should still post here occasionally.

Ayunno... I think 'Genesis' has been used overall quite enough. Why don't we use 'Exodus' something instead? Or maybe another word entirely? Or no word at all?
Legends - this is honestly my personal favorite. Simple, deceivingly so, still hearkens back to LoD, but also indicates the meaning and scale of our characters.

yeah. <_< Nothing sensible comes to mind anymore.
Rules: I guess it's ok, though I wouldn't personally mind something of a reduction in starter power overall. I mean, if you're nigh-almighty from the start, there's not much growth left there, but it's a minor qualm.
OOC: The standard set seems to work fine, same as we had back on FH, same as we have here and same as MR more or less. Don't think there's much needed in terms of additions or deletions.
IC: Well, I was thinking perhaps localizing the whole things, as well as increasing and, at the same time, decreasing the scale. Make it more about the planet, make it grander. DBZ-like guys can zip around a planet in minutes, really reducing the scale and sense of adventure. Make it continental. The playing area could be this gigantic planet, but only the first continent is first available. If it were up to me, honestly, I'd kinda ban the idea of high-speed character flight. If we can't make it without, make it more like the original back in DB, where it was more of a hovering than anything. But it's probably just me.

I was going to post almost the exact same opinions....so I can't add much else... ;D The only change I'd like to see right now is to the extra character rule. The character limit should be temporarily raised so we're allowed 2 characters, maybe this will help with activity. While in effect I'd add a 3 week "trial" rule to the 2nd character; so basically, if the mods agree that the user cannot handle 2 characters at once the most recent will be taken away until they see fit to give back or the user meets the requirements needed to get a second character. Also, may I have permission to remake Aion? Seeing how he's based off Dragonia itself, and we don't have a clue on how big the changes will be, I'd like to start reworking everything soon... |

We can just make the Nenians one of the natives of the planet if you want.
Name: dont know... but not an Exodus or Genesis thing, anything else would be fiiiiine by me.

That was my idea
A list of native species and races but the special traits are linked to the culture, i.e. Nenians, mostly water and Ice elemental culture. Might narrow the field a little but also gives the natives more character.
Plus, I think we could use a re-worked version of heaven and hell and the after-life which I have turning over in my mind. Involving gates and a godlike being called the Grave King.

In my short absence i think Mike and Matt have put things perfectly, though I would just like to state that no matter what happens, whether we move site and change the majority of the site, or stay here and change the majority of the site etc. no matter what, we'll work our best to make sure that only the things that NEED to be changed are, especially with everything towards all the characters you've all made. We know all the hard work you've put in to them, and your posting, and we don't want all that to have gone to waste.
Hopefully we'll have some more information for you on all of this by tomorrow, but if not we'll have more information by next week latest. In the meantime keep this up guys, the more ideas the better.

People.
I thought that I should inform you all that everything has finally been settled on. I'm not sure how much detail I can give away still, but what I can tell you is that it is finally over. However, this does not mean that there wont be some changes around here - it only means that the changes will be on our terms.
I'll be speaking with Mike and Matt about everything and we'll let you all know what's going on in better detail as soon as we can. In the meantime though, please do continue coming up with some ideas like you have been, it's all very much welcomed and who knows, we might be able to use a lot of it when we change stuff!
More importantly though people, KEEP POSTING IN THE SAGA (or your own threads)!!!

Ideas are always open for discussion, and this seems like the best place to discuss them in! And no, this issue isn't completely dead - to be honest, there will be change, only it's taking longer than thought of to get into place.
Like I said though, any ideas at all, post them up!

Anyways, I wouldn't mind the Nenians becoming an official race. It's actually something I wanted to do for a while, I just never had the chance to give an "ok" or thought everything out. Besides, everyone pretty much had their own thing going on...so I didn't think anyone would really care.
That said, since "Dragonia" itself may be gone; it'd probably be a good idea to start brainstorming ideas on new races.
