"Shit... this was such a bad idea." Kihaku had simply let the punches come and roll, considering that he knew the boy couldn't do any real damage in such a rage. It was when he started screaming in pain, calling his NAME, and not "sir," was when he got worried. When the boy dropped down to the ground, Kihaku went down with him, noticing the blood with a hint of panic tinging his mouth. When Cham finally managed those last words, Kihaku instantly sprung into action, not knowing where his movements were leading him, only knowing that he had to do something.
Grabbing his shoulders as he had before, he flooded the boy with energies once more, only this time it wasn't to probe, but to rip the lattice appart that surrounded his soul. When his own spirit latched on, he was almost physically thrown by how fast it was spinning. Instead, he chose a different tactic. He inundated the latice with his own energy until it started growing. It built bigger and bigger, until finally it was visible, continuing to grow until it formed an egg-shaped barrier between Cham and the rest of the world.
Taking several steps back, out of the web he'd built, he felt a sudden rush as the spinning whipped the air about him, the tree not too far starting to lose leaves from the violence. Reaching out, his hands suddenly latched onto the spinning formation, and his body was almost flung to the side from the momentum. Still, he grunted from the effort and dug in his heels, the web finally coming to a stop.
Arms still shaking from the effort, he opened his eyes to see the boy now completely still, breathing halted, heartbeat faint, and eyes glazed over, changing slowly to back to green. Dammit, come ON! With a mighty shove, he almost lost his balance as the web gave way, spinning gently in the opposite direction. The lattice instantly collapsed, shrinking at an exponential rate until it returned to the boy's body, who collapsed.
The Spirit too fell, nearly fainting from worry and fatigue. He almost had to crawl over to him to check on his vital signs, reaching out and feeling his pulse. He was warm, breathing regularly, and heartbeat registering normal. He seemed to be sleeping.
"Not a bad idea at this point."

A couple hours later Cham jolted up coughing holding his head. "How many... times am I gunna be hit by something... large," he said between coughs. Cham kept coughing and finally, after a few hacks, it seemed to subside.
"This is getting old..." he said in a whisper as he stood on wabbly legs. His head still ached, not exactly feeling ever the better after hacking up a lung. He gave a long sigh looking to the sky, his bright emerald green eyes examining the beautiful day, not really knowing the ordeal he had just gone through.

"As 'old' as this may be, I have some good news." Kihaku wasn't too far away from the young man, once again leaning against the tree that stood a small ways away from the scene of their battle with the Minions of Chaos. His right knee was drawn up to his chest, his left leg was outstretched with the night-black staff of the Oblivion resting upon it. The blade was drawn into the long handle, so it seemed deceptively innocent as the Chaos Spirit gently stroked it absently with his left hand. The Nirvana was resting up against the trunk of the tree much as Kihaku was, the strap that would normally connect it to his belt resting on his right shoulder, like the hand of an old, loving friend.
His crimson eyes burned from his pale, gaunt features, and gave off a slight twinkle in the light. He gave a small sigh and smirk, looking over to the boy with a knowing smile. "I managed to balance the Chaos Web and your normal spirit, with some rather... interesting side effects. I'm not exactly sure what this means to your ability to use Chaos Energy, but at least now you'll survive. That, and we're about to have some company."

Cham grabbed the hilt of his sword nervously. "We are gunna have more fighting? My head still hurts..." he said rubbing it gingerly. "Everythings been so wierd lately..." he said seemingly depressed, sarrow almost washing over him before his eyes met Kihaku's, a joyful smile animated his features yet again. THe normal, innocent look Cham gave every so often, almost making people wonder if there was a violent bone in his body.
"By company do you mean more of those... bad things again?" He said his bright emerald eyes scanning the horizons for signs of company. "I can't sense anyone coming... do you?"

Kihaku shook his head, his smile still firmly in place. His gloved fingers continued to stroke the smooth shaft of the Oblivion, his right hand now reaching over his shoulder to fondle the hilt of the Nirvana, his movements and facial expression almost akin to embracing a family member. His entire facade exhuded a sort of serenity that was inexplicable to even himself.
"No, they're entirely benign, I assure you. How I know that, I really don't know. Tell me, didn't you think it od how I should know the names of those who attacked us? Regardless, they're coming, and we don't need to worry for now."
His unnerving blood-red eyes stared straight forward for a few more minutes before turning towards the boy, locking onto his face with a hawk-like intensity. He studied his features, his eyes, his height, every single thing about him, all the while comparing it to what he had been when they'd first met and started training.
"You know Cham... despite all the problems and set-backs you've been having, you really are exceptionally stronger."

Cham gave a smile and a nod to Kihaku, happy for the praise, since they didnt come often from him. Kihaku was also smiling which seemed rare a bit odd, it was like someone else took over his face. "Thankyou sir," he said looking back over the horizon.
"When you said those creatures names earlier, I just assumed you knew of them. I'm not from this planet and you've been here longer than I, I just assumed you know of them." He looked back over at Kihaku. "Who are these... visators?"

Kihaku finally lost his smile, the sudden unexplained Era of Good Feelings lost to the ether, and instead of remaining idle with his weapons, he stood, pushing off the ground with his bent leg and standing as if pulled by a string. Most people found that eerie, when really all he was doing was flying on a much smaller scale. The Oblivion was clutched in his right hand, the Nirvana's strap in his left, when in a single fluid motion, he deftly spun the staff several times on his palm before he slid it into place on his back, and deftly attatching the sword to his belt.
"No, they aren't anything I've encountered in the scope of my memory. Speaking of which..." Kihaku suddenly realized with a slight start that he'd never told the boy about his past, which was really a bit of a cause of guilt considering he'd become his apprentice on such blind faith, following with unwavering loyalty and such a fierce desire to learn that a lesser being would have already gotten emotional and expressed feelings of filial affection.
"Let me tell you a few things about me. First off, just so you know, I have no idea how old I am. I may look to be mid-forties because of how gaunt my face is, but I really have no clue. My memories actually begin only nine months ago."
He gave a nonchalant shrug, as if this small admission of amnesia was nothing to worry about. "However, I seemed right away to know my name, what I was capable of, and a drive to be neither good nor evil, charitable, nor selfish. Black is the absence of color, so I do not even dress myself in any sort of manner that might lead one to believe I affiliate with either group. Still, what I managed to glean some invaluable information from a passing stranger I met on the road."
Kihaku recalled the night with such vivid intensity it almost seemed as if he could reach out and feel the chill air, smell the wet dew on the grasses, and see the silhouette of the man as he sat before the firelight, his shoulders and head illuminated by the cold, pale moonlight.
"He never gave me his name, but offered me a seat by his fire. I came near but did not sit. He was a scholar, and just by my brief introductions and the answers to a few probing questions he put to me, he deduced what I was, giving me info that I knew I could use. I am a Chaos Spirit... one of four. By the looks of my tattoo, I am the Eye, while the others are the Hands, Heart, and Will.
I learned little else from him that night, and how I knew the names of those who attacked us is still a mystery, but I'm sure it has something to do with my past, the past that is coming to meet us."
He gave the boy's right upper arm a small punch, not even enough to warrant rubbing, his opaque eyes gleaming in the light. "We must make ready. The Chaos Spirits are coming to convene.

Cham shook his head. "You dont need to explain yourself to me sir," he said looking down a little embarrassed. "But you should have your memories... it's a little sad that you've forgotten them. I wish Channeled Energy could cure anomolies in the mental system, so I could restore that memory, but I cant," he said looking down at his hands.
Cham felt his head, he had a headache and shook it off. It's been getting worse lately. Every so often he'd get head aches, probably from all the fighting and violence messing with his soul. He wished they would just go away.
Cham looked back up to Kihaku. "When will they arrive?"

((I think this is the right place to go, we were told to go to Rues and this seems like the right thread))
The clouds opened suddenly as a figure in an over-sized brown leather jacket burst through holding someone dressed in nearly total black. He seemed to descend for a few miles in free-fall, the wind whipping past him and shaking his jacket in the powerful draft as the ground rapidly rushed up to them, Jimmy spun in the air suddenly and there was a flash of Ki energy as he slowed his descent. A thick white and blue aura surrounded him as he lowered himself down gently, the person in his arms writhing around and making Jimmy's task of holding them increasingly difficult. He finally had to let go and Rizuk landed in a heap after falling about 20 feet to the ground, he got up with an audible groan and his eyes shot daggers at the Half Demon as he landed awkwardly next to him "Sorry... But, you kept writhing around..." "Shut up" Rizuk snarled as he wiped off the dirt he'd picked up from his fall. He started scanning the area with his orange eyes, looking for some sign of the guy who'd opened the gate. He finally snarled and for no reason whacked Jimmy on the back of the head "Ow..." Jimmy clutched at his head and cowered away from the enraged Dragon. Rizuk took an impulsive step forward and jerked his head at Jimmy "Come on! We're not going to find anything unless we go looking." "I thought Gabe asked you to keep me safe, why are you trying to find something dangerous?" "What? Well, she... well... Yes. But... SHUT UP! Stupid Human!" Rizuk shouted as he stormed off towards wherever he thought was least likely to involve the Chaos Spirit.
The not so dynamic duo walked for a while in no real direction just looking for some sign of a Chaos Spirit. Jimmy was beginning to get tired and wondered why the Demon had suddenly stopped acting up. Maybe Rizuk was having a calming influence on it "Oi! Claymore! Start walking faster I'll set fire to your Eyebrows!" OK, maybe that wasn't very likely, but it could be possible. Jimmy finally put his foot down and spoke up "Rizuk... I need to-" "Grow a pair? Wet Myself? Stop annoying you with useless questions?" Rizuk offered sarcastically as he continued marching "Take a break! I need a break!" "Pffh, fine butterball. We'll take a break" Rizuk sat down on the grass and folded his arms angrily, Jimmy lay back and panted as he tried to regain his breath. Rizuk propped his head up on one hand and looked to his left... "Hey, do those two look familar?" "Maybe...they can...give us directions" Jimmy panted as he sat up again. Rizuk frowned and stared at them, not paying attention to his reluctant companion "Only one way to find out" Rizuk muttered as he got to his feet. He held his hands cupped to his mouth and bellowed "OI! WHOEVER YOU TWO ARE! HAVE YOU SEEN A GATE OF SOME DESCRIPTION!" "That's not very helpful" "Your Mother's not very helpful" "My mum's dead!" Jimmy said, distraught "Might be why..." Rizuk finished with his hands in his pockets, ignoring the horrifically upset Jimmy.

Cham looked in the direction of the 2 new people and repremanded himself for not having noticed their auras earlier. He was looking for Auras simular to Kihaku's and not any others, a stupid misteak on his part. Chameleon took the two in, they looked fairly familiar but he didnt look back in his memories to figure out why.
"A gate?" Cham said looking to Kihaku for a moment. They hadnt passed through any gates. "What do you suppose they mean, we are in the middle of nowhere, why would there be a gate out here?" Cham said looking back to them and shrugged.
