The stranger had already turned his head and had engaged in the now joint stare that they both seemed to be entangled in; whereas Ryan’s face was full of determination, the strangers was smirking, obviously finding some sort of derived sick pleasure from all of this. Your lack of discipline will be your undoing evil one. Ryan thought to himself as he simply summed up the situation in his mind. The samurai had noticed the stranger’s blades shimmer slightly, more energy clearly flowing within them, the stranger readying himself also it seemed.
Spinning the blades in front of himself a few times the stranger stopped showing off and became slightly more serious as he taunted Ryan and spoke those few words that meant it was time. “Let's see what you got!”
This situation was no different of many others that Ryan had been placed in now several times in his lifetime, and nowhere near as dangerous as some of them either. He was more certain that he would come out of this situation more than healthy and without any sort of harm either. He knew this wasn’t him being cocky, Loki had taken the pleasure in those traits a person may have, and this was him believing in himself, in his training and traditions.
Suddenly though something caught his attention, another energy signal upon the Cliffside behind him. Constantly looking at the stranger he had noticed that the stranger hadn’t actually noticed this other energy level; them both still looking each other in the eyes. Ryan was now in a predicament indeed. He either turned his head to look behind him and discover just who this particular energy signature belonged to, which would intend leave him extremely open for the stranger to attack, or he kept a constant eye on the stranger, never taking his eyes off from him, leaving whoever this new energy signal belonged to with the choice to back attack him.
Right now the stranger was a much bigger threat, mainly because he was far closer and Ryan knew of his intent, so he decided to tend to this problem first, and quickly, before investigating anything else. One thing at a time Ryan, just one thing at a time. he thought to himself. Now it was just a simple matter of bringing himself to a steady level of calmness and finishing this, this of course was until he felt it.
It was vibrations through the air, bouncing off against the back of his neck. The object was small, sharp and obviously aimed towards Ryan. Just moments before it was to hit Ryan simply tiled his head to the side allowing the object to fly past him with immense speed and dig within the ground just off in front of him. He could not spare any time to look upon this object right now, but suddenly the energy signal from the Cliffside behind him just vanished, as if off the face of the planet. An assassin maybe, either way that’s one less problem I have now.
Right then the stranger came running directly towards him like lightning; it had now truly begun, but it would now also end. The stranger attacked with a double slash, with both blades, aimed directly across Ryan’s chest but quickly Ryan pulled free one of his blades, just one, and forced it upwards through the air to quickly block the oncoming attacks. The block was successful and a thunderous clashing sound echoed out through the valley, dwarfing the wind.
The two quickly pounced into a stream of fast paced sword attacks, never moving too far from their positions in front of each other, until the stranger went in for the death strike. With both swords raised above his head he brought them down with thunderous speed and power, obviously aiming to cleave the samurai in two from head to toe. Ryan acted quickly and with skill unmatched by many. Instead of moving to simply block the attack, which would have seemed to be an easy yet safe option, Ryan swung sideways on with great force as if aiming to attack the stranger’s blades. The effect was the sheer force of the samurai’s attack caused the stranger’s attack to jolt back, Ryan quickly spun his body and used this opportunity to his advantage, extending his right leg and sweeping the stranger clean off of his feet.
Not wasting a moment Ryan jumped to his feet, draw out his other sword and placed them in an ‘X’ fashion either side of the stranger’s neck, leaving no space for movement. The stranger was now in a position he couldn’t logically get out of without slitting his own throat. “You are a creature of evil and by all right you have already forfeited your life by both dishonouring me and choosing this path in life…” Ryan stated to the stranger. “But everyone disserves a chance to change their ways, even one such as you. So I give this option to you now, change your ways and live a life of peace and harmony, or I will decapitate you right now.” the choices were simple, change or die.
Of course Ryan would allow a short pause for the stranger to answer but something suddenly hit him like a force he would never have believed possible. A wave of evil energy suddenly rushed over him, not through the land but as if within him, yet at the same time not influencing him. What’s happening to me?! To look into Ryan’s face at this point would have seemed as if Ryan had suddenly looked drained, but that expression soon wore off when those evil feelings faded, along with the confusion, leaving but a distant energy signature. The expression then changed to shock and disbelief.
“…Loki…no.” Ryan quietly muttered as he turned away from the stranger and looked off in the direction of where he had left his brother corpse pinned against the ground with his own sword. He couldn’t believe it, how could one raise from the dead? It made no sense.
